Penalties of Domestic Violence

Interviewer: When someone's charged with domestic violence, what are the possible penalties they're facing? What are the levels of it?

Acacia Law: With domestic violence there's a number of things that you have to undergo that you don't necessarily have to go through with other cases. Domestic violence has this program, they have multiple programs actually, they screen people who are accused of domestic violence incidents. They screen them by determining if they have any sort of prior record, if they have any prior domestic disputes. They're pretty thorough and they have a pretty good idea what most people are up to if, in fact, looking for them or if, in fact, they come upon a situation where they see these types of altercations. They can even overreact.
